Imagine yourself taking a dream vacation to St Thomas
Last year I took my dream vacation to St Thomas and really want to go back soon. The weather was outstanding and there was so many excursions I had a hard time deciding which part of the island I wanted to see first.
Good thing I did my vacation planning ahead of time or I probably would have tried to do too much at once without enjoying the tropical scenery at its finest. St Thomas is an island that is full of life so you better get your rest ahead of time as you will not want to sleep once you get there.
My vacation package to St Thomas was part of a Caribbean cruise I took that included the island getaway as one of the last islands we went to before going back to Puerto Rico which was our last destination for the ocean cruise.
We got off the cruise ship early that day as we had planned for a full day of shopping. Some of the people that I was on the cruise with have been to St Thomas a few times before so they really knew the best shops to visit. And there were a lot of shops that is for sure!
Not all vacation trips turn out to be what you had hoped but I can say that this island getaway is everything that it is said to be. The native people are so nice and friendly too. We went to a local restaurant that served a wide variety of local delicacies. The locals said that it was the best place to eat and prices were very reasonable.
One thing we did not expect was a funeral that went right down main street. All the shops closed their doors as the funeral procession went passed. It seemed like the whole town was in the funeral. I was told that this was a custom for everyone as a show of respect. And since the island is not that big most people know a good portion of the community.
